“You must learn a new way to think before you can master a new way to be.” – Marianne Williamson
New Year resolutions often come with a lot of pressure. They carry high expectations of what habits we should be giving up and which new goals we should be taking up. This pressure often leads to unrealistic ideals of what we should and shouldn’t be doing, triggering anxieties and negative thinking to make us feel guilty.
In reality, most of us slip back into the old ways after a week. In fact,80% of New Year resolutionsdon’t make it pastmid-February. Nonetheless, this time of year is one of the best times to make that change/habit or even just explore your options and goals.
We encourage you to look at New Year’s resolutions in a different way. First by starting with being a little kinder to yourself rather than setting yourself up for failure. Look into habits and goals which are realistic and healthy – rather than trying to over-achieve, look for improvement.
For 2021, we believe thatchanging your way of thinking is a great resolutionto take on. If you’re a business that needs support, rather than pushing yourself into stress or burnout you could try training yourself to say ‘stop’ and outsource some of your workload.
Outsourcing tasks to a virtual assistant means that you can spend your time on the tasks you enjoy and are good at, you can spend more time engaging with clients and customers, and also spending more time away from your business doing the things you love to do!
In our bid to support businesseswe offer a no obligation chatto help explore those options going forward and to see what support may be worth looking into deeper going into the new year.
In 2018 LC met one of our now long existing clients that had come to breaking point and was seeking additional support. The first initial meeting was tearful – The client was at breaking point trying to balance all those plates but over two years on this client is no longer going it alone and has a team of experts to call on whenever needed. She has enjoyed a number of holidays knowing that the business is cared for in her absence, her health which had severely suffered has now improved greatly and feels comfortable bouncing business development ideas in confidence with us.
Remember, the key to a new way of thinking is that change doesn’t happen until you are prepared and ready for it!
